- 3D Audio is adapted from a proof of concept demo for
- spatialized audio in VRML. The new VRML 2.0 specification
- supports spatialized audio nodes but most current VRML browsers implement
- a simpler form of spatialization, such as panning and volume.
- This demo provides a means for exploring an environment with more
- complex 3D sound filtering including front/back and up/down
- differentiation.
-
- As you approach and move past objects in the scene, (use
- controls described above), you will hear the object relative
- to your location, much as you would in the real world, rather
- than simply hearing it get louder or softer.
-
- The demo uses a special version of ivview, so standard Inventor
- viewer controls are available. Following is a description of
- the control panel.
